Event Communications

Are you running an event or festival an need a reliable temporary communication system?

Cougar Data Networks can supply and operate temporary 2 way radio systems anywhere in the U.K. ranging from 2 hand held radios up to 200 hand held radios and base stations.

For a simple network, our client can rent equipment per day which can be sent anywhere in the U.K. For a more advanced system or a larger event, our fully trained technicians will set up and manage the site for the duration of the event.

Equipment

Our normal small hire equipment is simple to use, pre configured on licence free frequencies for use in the U.K.

These radios are operate in simplex mode (one channel used for both transmission and reception) and have a range of around 0.5 - 1Km. The range is affected by the type of terrain and environment it which they are being used.

Our large managed system comprises of both hand held and base station units and operates in duplex mode (one channel for transmission and another separate channel for reception). We also have a variety of self supporting and vehicle mounted antenna masts and aerials.

The range of our managed system is around 7-10Km and is not so affected by the terrain or the environment.

We will come to your event, set up and test the system, issue radio sets to staff and maintain an on site presence to ensure your communications are the best they can be.

Command and control

For clients that require a secure base of operations during their event or festival we have access to our own mobile Command and Control unit.

The Command and Control unit contains many essential items for keeping track of what's happening including a communications desk, CCTV desk, dry wipe boards, flip charts, fridge and tea making area and a 32" LCD Screen and DVD player. The Command and Control unit is also self powered via a silenced diesel generator converted to run on Bio Diesel.

The Command and Control unit can be set up on almost any terrain in under 1 hour and is fully integrated with all of our communication services.
